Rumour: Rocksteady is working on a game set in the Batman Beyond universe that could be a PlayStation exclusive
Rocksteady, the studio known for the Batman Arkham series, is allegedly working on a new game based on Batman Beyond, which may become a PlayStation exclusive.
Here's What We Know
Rumours about the new project emerged after a report by Jason Schreyer from Bloomberg, who confirmed that Rocksteady plans to return to the world of single-player Batman. According to the Lunatic Ignus insider, the game will adapt the plot of Batman Beyond, where Batman is no longer Bruce Wayne (he is now a mentor for the new Batman), and the events take place in the future.
Interestingly, rumours suggest that the new game may become an exclusive for PlayStation 5.
We would like to remind you that there were already attempts to create a game based on Batman Beyond, which was cancelled at the development stage.
At the moment, none of the parties - PlayStation, WB Games, or Rocksteady Studios - has commented on these rumours. Nevertheless, the failure of Suicide Squad hints that the studio may indeed return to single-player games, and an exclusive deal with Sony will attract more funding.
