Overwatch 2 has received mixed reviews for the first time since its release on Steam in 2023, which indicates that the game has improved.

On 10 August 2023, Overwatch 2 was released on Steam alongside the start of Season 6, introducing a new support character, Illari, and the Invasion storyline missions. However, the release on Steam was overshadowed by a wave of negative reviews that made the game one of the worst in the digital store.

Now, as of 20 February, after the release of season 15, the situation has begun to change. The latest reviews of Overwatch 2 have become "mixed".

Several factors contributed to this improvement. Season 15 added loot boxes and a perk system, announced content for the year ahead, including Stadium and Freya modes, new heroes, and maps.

Also, after season 15, the game's online audience grew from 20-30 thousand to 40-50 thousand.
