According to Japanese sources, Sony's new flagship Xperia 1 VII smartphone will get Exmor T sensors for all three rear cameras. This is a significant improvement over last year's model, where this sensor was used only on the main camera.

Here's What We Know

The Exmor T is Sony's latest stacked CMOS sensor with dual-layer transistorised pixel technology, which significantly reduces noise and improves low-light performance.

The sensor size and megapixel count will reportedly remain the same, with 52 MP (48 effective MP) for the main camera, and 12 MP for the ultra-wide-angle and telephoto lenses. The previous three generations of Xperia 1 flagship models were unveiled in the second quarter, so the Xperia 1 VII is also expected to debut in May.
