Batman to be relaunched in comics with new costume, Batmobile and revamped Gotham: first issue to be released in September
DC Comics has announced a new release of Batman #1, which will be published in September 2025 and will be a relaunch of the superhero with a new team of creators and an updated look of the character.
Here's What We Know
As part of the relaunch, writer Matt Fraction and artist Jorge Jimenez will introduce Batman in the classic blue and grey costume, as well as a new Batmobile and a revamped look for Gotham. According to Fraction, the new series promises "everything that makes Batman the coolest character in comics".
The series is likely to consist of related but standalone stories. While plot details are currently being kept under wraps, fans can check out a few untitled interior pages from Jimenez and colour illustrations.
Jimenez said that they are looking to create an updated aesthetic, bringing back the classic blue suit in a modern way. At the same time, he is working on the visual identity of Gotham, trying to give the city a new look.
