Aqara, a company that specialises in Smart Home devices, has launched a new Hub G5 Pro outdoor surveillance camera.

Here's What We Know

Aqara Camera Hub G5 Pro synchronises with popular Smart Home apps such as Google Home, Alexa, Samsung SmartThings, Apple Home and supports HomeKit Secure Video.

The device records video in 2.6K Quad HD resolution and has a True Color Night Vision recording option. In this mode, it records in 1520p resolution with a 133-degree viewing angle.

The Hub G5 Pro's built-in neural processor allows it to automatically recognise objects in the frame and analyse sounds to identify intruders. The camera will not ignore attempted trespassing and other offences in its field of view. To deter criminals, the camera features a speaker that emits an alarm sound with a volume of up to 100dB, as well as backlighting.

The Aqara Camera Hub G5 Pro supports Matter protocol, and recorded videos are encrypted to increase system reliability and synchronised with iCloud, Aqara storage or a local NAS network.

Importantly, thanks to Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) technology, the camera can operate even when there is no internet connection.

The Aqara Camera Hub G5 Pro is available for purchase on the manufacturer's website for $180.
