OnePlus acknowledges the grammatical error of "Meda in China" in the new Watch 3 and reacts with humour

OnePlus has acknowledged that its new Watch 3 smartwatch has a known spelling error on the back. The brand said that it is ready to accept the return of defective watches without questions.

The brand also notes that the watch with the typo can be left as a "super limited edition" because the defect made it unique.

The Watch 3 looks much the same as its predecessor, the Watch 2, but has the latest features such as a 60-second health check with body temperature readings, a new titanium bezel, and a battery that lasts up to 5 days on a single charge. However, it is not without its flaws: influencer Marques Brownlee noticed that the English-language text on the back of the watch reads "Meda in China" instead of "Made in China".
Although this error does not affect the functionality of the Watch 3, OnePlus has admitted its "completely unintentional" lapse in quality control. The company also responded to the situation with humour, publishing a lighthearted post on social media with the phrase "We've meda mistake!", emphasising that customers can return their watches "no questions asked" if the error affects their satisfaction with the new product.
Despite the situation, sales of the Watch 3 do not seem to have been affected: at the time of writing, the watch has already gone out of stock on the company's US website. The Watch 2 is still available on Amazon for $279.99, and the new Watch 3 costs $329.99.
