Apple is preparing to integrate Google Gemini into Siri

Apple plans to add support for Google Gemini artificial intelligence to Siri. At present, Siri can send requests to ChatGPT, but Apple wants to expand the choice of AI models.

Here's What We Know

At WWDC24, Apple Vice President Craig Federighi hinted that the company is considering the integration of other AI models. A new data leak confirms that this process is already underway. Developer Aaron Perris discovered a server-side update in the iOS 18.4 beta, which added options for selecting third-party models such as OpenAI and Google.

Although there is no guarantee that Google Gemini support will appear in iOS 18.4, it confirms Apple's intention to expand Apple Intelligence. Integration may occur in future updates of iOS 18 or in iOS 19. In addition, it is expected that in iOS 19, Apple will introduce its own model for Siri, which will work on iPhones with the latest chips.

Google recently released updated Gemini 2.0 models, including a new AI for complex logic tasks. These models are likely to appear in iPhones starting with the iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16e. Google Gemini integration can significantly improve Siri responses and provide users with more opportunities to interact with artificial intelligence.

Recently, the iPhone 17 Pro Max with a modified camera unit appeared in leaks. On social media, Dixon published a rendering of the alleged design of the flagship along with a MagSafe case created for the new shape of the device. The most noticeable change is the redesigned camera system.
