Rumour: AAA game by Skeleton Key, run by former Dragon Age producer, cancelled
Wizards of the Coast has cancelled the project by Skeleton Key, according to the studio's audio director Nassim Ait-Kassi.
Here's What We Know
Skeleton Key Studio was founded in 2022 with the aim of developing AAA games with immersive gameplay, unique stories, and tense moments of horror.
The studio is headed by Christian Daly, a former executive producer of the Dragon Age series at BioWare and an executive at EA and Blizzard. However, as Ait-Kassi noted in his LinkedIn post, the project was discontinued, and he and other developers suffered "the same failure."
Currently, Skeleton Key does not have any open positions on its page, which is unusual for a studio at an early stage of development. Although there is no official confirmation from Wizards of the Coast yet, the lack of vacancies and the statements of the audio director suggest that the project has been cancelled.
It is not yet known what the studio will do next.
