Heavy Ukrainian drone NEMESIS destroys Russian Strela-10M4 air defence system - video
A Ukrainian heavy bomber drone NEMESIS managed to eliminate a Russian anti-aircraft missile system Strela-10M4. The Unmanned Systems Forces reported that the 412th Separate Regiment of Unmanned Systems successfully completed the combat mission.
Here's What We Know
The operators struck at enemy equipment in Luhansk region, destroying one of the most advanced modifications of the Soviet air defence system. The Strela-10M4 system is capable of hitting targets at a distance of up to 5 km and at an altitude of 10 m. Its task was to cover the occupiers' units, in particular from Ukrainian drones. However, the air defence system failed to detect the NEMESIS heavy bomber drone.
This is the second destroyed Arrow and a total of five anti-aircraft systems eliminated by the Unmanned Systems Forces in February.
We would like to explain that in recent years, the term "Baba Yaga" has spread among the occupiers, which they use to refer to Ukrainian heavy drones NEMESIS and Vampire. The distance between the drone's four motors is over a metre, which makes it particularly noticeable. For uninterrupted control, NEMESIS has integrated Starlink satellite communication terminals, which eliminates the limitations of traditional communication and significantly expands control capabilities.
The drone's route can reach over 20 km. At the planned point, its camera is lowered perpendicular to the ground, allowing the operator to view enemy positions with equipment even in the dark. Then the operator presses the button to drop ammunition, which effectively destroys the Russian equipment.
