In three years, Steam Deck sales have approached 4 million units - the popularity of Valve's console is twice the total of its rivals

25 February marked three years since the launch of the Steam Deck handheld gaming computer.
Many similar devices from major companies have been released since then, for example, ASUS ROG Ally, Lenovo Legion Go and MSI Claw, but Valve's gadget remains the most popular, which is confirmed by sales statistics.
Here's What We Know
The analytical agency IDC, using information about supply chains around the world, presented data on the sales of portable devices. Note that Chinese gadgets were not taken into account in the study, and at the moment they do not compete with the above models.
Statistics showed that since the beginning of 2022 sold 6 million portable PCs, of which about 4 million fall on Steam Deck. ASUS ROG Ally, Lenovo Legion Go and MSI Claw show excellent sales growth, but can't yet catch up with Valve's console in terms of market demand.
Portable console sales statistics:
- 2022 - 1.62 million (Steam Deck only)
- 2023 - 2.86 million (50% Steam Deck)
- 2024 - 1.48 million (48% Steam Deck)
- 2025 - 1.92 million (IDC analysts' forecast)
Thus, Steam Deck is selling twice as well as all of its peers combined.
