Samsung has unveiled the ultra-fast 9100 Pro SSD in the US with PCIe 5.0 support and 14,800MB/s read speeds

Samsung has unveiled its new flagship 9100 Pro SSD in the US. This M.2 SSD supports PCIe 5.0 and NVMe, delivering sequential read speeds of up to 14,800MB/s and write speeds of up to 13,400MB/s.
Here's What We Know
The device is available in two variants: with and without a heatsink, as well as three capacity options: 1TB, 2TB, and 4TB. The models are priced at $199, $299, and $549 respectively. The company promises an 8TB model in the second half of 2025.

The 9100 Pro SSD is nearly twice as fast as its predecessor, the 990 Pro, and 49 per cent more efficient. It uses Samsung's proprietary V NAND TLC (V8) system and controller. Random read and write speeds reach 2,200,000 and 2,600,000 IOPS, respectively. The total bytes written (TBW) capacity is 600 for the 1TB model, 1,200 for the 2TB model, 2,400 for the 4TB model and 4,800 for the 8TB model.

All models come with a 5-year limited warranty. This SSD is designed for users who do professional photo and video editing, create content with artificial intelligence or play demanding games.
