Google allows users to remove personal information from search results faster

Google has implemented changes that make it easier for users to remove personal information from search results.

Here's What We Know

Now, by clicking on the three dots next to any search result, you can request its removal. There are three options for requests:

  • "Displays my personal information" - this option allows you to ask Google to remove personal data such as your phone number, email, home address, logins or passwords.
  • "I have a legal takedown request" - used for content that violates Google's rules.
  • "Information is out of date, I want to update" - this option allows you to update the search result if the page on the site has changed.

In addition, Google has updated the "Results about you" feature, which helps to find and remove search results that contain personal information such as phone number or address. This gives users more control over their online privacy.

It is known that in its financial report for 2024, Google announced that in 2025 it plans to spend "approximately $75 billion" on AI investments. For comparison, in 2023, Google spent $32.3 billion. The financial report says that AI continues to generate revenue for Google. Total revenue increased by 12% compared to the previous year (to $96.5 billion). Google Cloud revenues grew by 10% to $12 billion, which was "driven by growth in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) across core GCP products, AI infrastructure, and generative AI solutions".
