At Kia EV Day 2025 in Spain, the company officially unveiled the EV2 concept, which will later become one of the brand's most affordable electric vehicles. The production version of the EV2 will appear in 2026, and its main competitors will be the Renault 5, Renault 4 and Opel Corsa Electric.

What is known about the Kia EV2?

Visually, the EV2 represents the next step in Kia Opposites United's design philosophy. The most noticeable elements are its sleek exterior surfaces and the shape of the front headlights with an additional set of claw-shaped running lights. The tail lights are unexpectedly low, which are also more rounded than other Kia electric cars.

Inside, the EV2 gets the same combined dashboard and infotainment display as the EV3, taking up about half the width of the front panel.

Kia isn't revealing full specifications yet, but it is known that the EV2 will be built on the 400-volt E-GMP platform, just like the larger Kia EV3 and EV4 models. Going by the older models, we can expect a 201 hp (150 kW) electric motor. The battery is likely to be the smaller 58.3 or 81.4 kWh. There is also a possibility that Kia will use the cheaper 43.3 kWh LFP battery from the PV5.

Sales of the Kia EV2 will start in 2026 in Europe and other regions. The estimated starting price is up to €30,000, which will make it one of the most affordable electric crossovers on the market.
