Samsung unveils Galaxy A26: a budget smartphone with water protection and an improved camera
Samsung has unveiled a new budget smartphone, the Galaxy A26, which has received a number of improvements for 2025. The model is equipped with a larger screen, a more powerful chip and improved build quality, as well as water and dust protection.
Here's What We Know
The design of the Galaxy A26 is reminiscent of the older A36 and A56 models: a flat frame with a distinctive island for the cameras. For the first time in the series, the smartphone has a Victus+ Gorilla Glass back panel and IP67 protection, which ensures resistance to water and dust.
The smartphone will be available in four colours: black, white, mint and peach pink. It's also thinner than its predecessor, with a body thickness of 7.7 mm compared to 8.3 mm.
The Galaxy A26 is powered by the Exynos 1380 chip and has 6 or 8 GB of RAM with 128 or 256 GB of internal storage. There is also a microSD card slot for up to 2 TB. The built-in battery has a capacity of 5000 mAh and supports 25W fast charging.
The new device has a large 6.7-inch screen with FHD+ resolution and Super AMOLED technology with Infinity-U design. The smartphone's camera consists of a 50 MP main sensor with OIS, autofocus and f/1.8 aperture, an 8 MP ultra-wide-angle camera (f/2.2), a 2 MP macro lens (f/2.4) and a 13 MP front camera (f/2.2).
The smartphone runs on Android 15 with One UI 7 and has built-in features such as Circle to Search, Object Eraser and camera filters. The Galaxy A26 will receive up to six OS updates.
