Ukrainian Frogwares to launch a Kickstarter campaign on 6 March for The Sinking City 2, a Lovecraft-inspired game

The Ukrainian studio Frogwares has announced the launch of a Kickstarter campaign for its new project, The Sinking City 2. The campaign will start on 6 March 2025 and promises many surprises for fans.
Here's What We Know
The Sinking City 2 is a survival action game set in the 1920s in the fictional city of Arkham, which is suffering from a supernatural flood. Players will be able to explore a semi-open world, fight terrifying monsters and uncover dark secrets. Unlike the first part, the sequel is more focused on combat and survival, and detective elements are now optional.
The game is created on Unreal Engine 5 and offers a new plot that is not related to the events of the original. Key features include a changing landscape due to rising water levels, limited resources, and a morally complex story inspired by Lovecraft's myths.
Frogwares plans to use Kickstarter to raise funds for the completion of the game and additional features. The campaign promises exclusive rewards for backers, including physical Limited Edition and Collector's Edition versions of the game.
This is not the studio's first experience with crowdfunding: in 2022, Frogwares successfully raised $220,000 for the remake of Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened. This financial buffer was critical during the war in Ukraine, allowing the studio to adapt to the difficult conditions.
The original The Sinking City became one of Frogwares' most successful games, despite legal disputes with publisher Nacon. In 2024, the studio regained the rights to the game and announced that it was working on a sequel. Now, Frogwares is looking to build on its success and offer players a more ambitious project.
The Sinking City 2 is expected to be released in 2025-2026 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
