Apple has unveiled the new iPad Air with M3 chip, which is now available in two sizes at once - 11 and 13 inches. The update brings the model even closer to the Pro version, offering improved performance and new accessories.
What's different about the iPad Air?
- Two sizes: for the first time, the iPad Air is available in a 13-inch variant, alongside the classic 11-inch variant
- M3 chip: delivers 50 per cent more performance than the M1 in the previous generation
- Updated Magic Keyboard: gets an extra row of function keys and a larger trackpad for a more comfortable experience.
- New colours: now available in blue, magenta, starlight and space grey
- Apple Pencil Pro support: improved stylus with tactile response and gestures
How does the new iPad Air differ from the iPad Pro?
While the Air is now available in a 13-inch format, it's still different from the Pro version. The main differences are:
- No mini-LED display - the iPad Air has a regular Liquid Retina display
- No overclocked M3 chip - slightly lower clock speeds than the iPad Pro
- Single camera - no LiDAR scanner
Price and availability
- 11" iPad Air - from $599
- 13" iPad Air - from $799
