Epic Games sues Fortnite player for stealing and selling accounts by deceiving customer support

Epic Games has filed a lawsuit against a Fortnite player, accusing him of hijacking and selling hundreds of accounts by deceiving customer support. The company emphasises that such actions harm both the player community and the game's reputation.

Here's What We Know

According to the lawsuit filed on 27 February 2025, Isaac Strock used tricks to gain access to other people's accounts. He contacted Epic Games support posing as the account owner and asked to change the email address.

"Strock provided enough information to deceive the support team and gain access to the account," the case file says. He then sold the stolen accounts on online forums. One such account was sold for $425 in bitcoin and contained 146 skins and 30 V-Bucks.

Epic Games claims that Strzok put hundreds of accounts up for sale through forums and a website that listed 482 "products" for sale. The company emphasises that such actions not only cause financial losses, but also deprive players of access to the accounts in which they have invested time and money.

This case is another example of Epic Games' tough stance against rule violators. For example, in February 2025, one of the fraudsters published a video with an apology after a lifetime ban and donated the prize money from the Fortnite tournament to charity.

It is worth reminding that Fortnite is changing its anti-cheating policy and will give a second chance to violators from April 2025.
