A new leak hints at the development of a sequel to Minecraft Dungeons, working title Project Spicewood. The game has been in development for two years and promises new locations, mechanics, and the return of familiar gameplay.
Here's What We Know
According to X0X_LEAK, Minecraft: Spicewood will be a direct sequel to Minecraft Dungeons released in 2020. The game will offer three main locations with unique points of interest:
- Honeycomb Fields: includes farms, islands, lakes, fields, and forests.
- Desert: features rocks, fortresses, mountains, villages, and ice lagoons.
- Forest: remote outposts, the witch zone, and the town of Shady Forest.
The leak also includes working images of the game: one of them may be the official artwork, and the other is a screenshot of the gameplay that resembles the perspective of the original Minecraft Dungeons.
Like the previous game, Spicewood will be an action adventure in the dungeon crawler genre. It will retain the familiar gameplay style with a focus on exploring new biomes and fighting enemies.
According to rumours, the game is scheduled for release in the second quarter of 2026.
