Rumours: the first Battlefield Labs test will start on 7 March and will last 2 hours on PC

According to Insider Gaming, EA will conduct the first closed testing of the Battlefield Labs programme on 7 March 2025.

Here's What We Know

Battlefield Labs is a new initiative of EA aimed at working closely with the gaming community. The programme was announced in early February 2025 and has already collected hundreds of thousands of registrations. Participants will be able to take part in the upcoming game tests regardless of the time of registration.

The first test will last about two hours on a PC and will be conducted in a closed environment. Participants are not allowed to record, stream or discuss the game during the test.

The main purpose of the first test is to test new mechanics and concepts for the upcoming game. EA wants to involve the community in the development process after the problematic launch of Battlefield 2042, which received a negative reaction from players.

The next Battlefield game is expected to be released in late 2025 on Xbox Series S|X, PlayStation 5, and PC.

Although the first testing is already underway, registration for future testing is still open on the Battlefield Labs website. Players can try their hand and gain access to future test sessions.

EA emphasises that registering at any time gives you an equal chance of participating in future testing.
