We already reported that Respawn Entertainment recently cancelled the development of an unannounced shooter. Expectedly, many people thought that it was about the new part of Titanfall, which gamers have been dreaming about for a long time, but authoritative insider Jeff Grubb hastened to make it clear.

Here's What We Know

To recap, Emilly Evans, a former executive assistant at Respawn, revealed in a deleted post on LinkedIn that the "incubation project" she's been working on for the past year has been cancelled.

On her Game Mess Decides podcast, Grubb clarified that the shooter she was referring to was not related to the Titanfall franchise. The cancelled game was created by a team that had previously worked on a shooter based on the Star Wars universe, which in turn was also cancelled. Gamedesigners wanted to use the developments, but the management decided that it was not expedient to continue working and cancelled the project.

Grubb noted that one of the creators of Titanfall Steve Fukuda is still working on a new game, but it is not a long-awaited continuation of the series about large-scale battles of huge combat robots.

Consequently, there are no serious reasons to count on Titanfall 3 yet, however, Respawn has been openly talking about it for years.
