Game director Hugo Martin and producer Marty Stratton have revealed new details about DOOM: The Dark Ages, scheduled for release on 15 May 2025. The game promises not only epic battles but also a plot that leaves the door open for future stories.

Here's What We Know

In a conversation with PC Gamer, Martin noted that The Dark Ages will not end with the traditional scenario where the protagonist ends up in a coffin. "This is not the end of the story. We want to leave room for further stories," he said. This opens up prospects for new adventures in the medieval DOOM universe.

Martin also confirmed that the studio plans to release DLC similar to The Ancient Gods from DOOM Eternal.

DOOM: The Dark Ages will feature a completely updated arsenal of weapons created from scratch. The game will also feature a new shield that allows you to block enemy attacks and use it in attacks.

In addition, players will have the opportunity to ride dragons with machine guns and control huge combat mechs, which greatly expands the gameplay possibilities.

We would like to remind you that the authors have already told whether it is possible to complete Doom: The Dark Ages without firearms.
