Hideki Kamiya, who is currently working with Clovers on the long-awaited sequel to Okami, has revealed that the studio does not plan to focus exclusively on sequels to old games. In an interview with Japanese publication GameSpark, Kamiya and Kento Koyama discussed their plans for the future at Clovers.

Here's What We Know

Koyama emphasised that Clovers is open to all possibilities when it comes to game development. He explained that after the completion of Okami 2, the studio may work on a completely new intellectual property (IP). According to him, their approach to game development is not limited, as they strive to create interesting experiences.

Kamiya added that if they were approached with existing IP that could be creatively reinterpreted in their own style, they would consider it. However, he also noted that if they are approached with a particularly compelling original project proposal, they would be open to pursuing it. Ultimately, Kamiya believes that it all depends on whether the project is exciting and passionate.

When We Can Expect It

The release date and exact list of Okami Sequel platforms are currently unknown.
