The new Garmin gadget has been certified: what can it be?
Garmin is preparing to release a new gadget, which is currently under development under the codename "A04968". Although some sources suggest that it could be a new Forerunner 975, there is no evidence to support this yet.
Here's What We Know
Recently, the Forerunner series has not received any updates, although Garmin is actively improving its other models, such as Approach, Descent, Enduro, Fenix and Instinct. The Forerunner 965 is about to celebrate its second year of release, and so an update to the lineup seems very appropriate.
Recently, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) database mentioned a device under the codename "A04968", which was certified in December 2024. However, the official documentation does not reveal many details, except that the device is expected to be released by the summer of 2025. This has sparked rumours about a possible update of the Forerunner line, which will include a new model.
However, it is worth noting that the "A04968" device does not support Garmin Pay, which is a characteristic feature of most modern smartwatches of the brand. This raises doubts as to whether it is really the Forerunner 975.
Garmin is expected to officially unveil the new product in the coming months, and it is likely to happen within two to three months.
In February 2025, Garmin introduced the new Descent G2 smartwatch that combines diving functions. This gadget is designed for underwater sports enthusiasts as it provides a lot of useful information right on the wrist.
