The story of Silent Hill f will be written by the famous Japanese author Ryukishi07, who gained popularity thanks to the When They Cry series of visual novels.

This game will be the first project developed by a Japanese team in more than two decades. The last project of the Silent team was Silent Hill 4: The Room, released in 2004.
