Path of Exile 2 update 0.2.0: new support gems and improvements

Grinding Gear Games continues to reveal details of the 0.2.0 update for Path of Exile 2, which will be released this month. Among the innovations are two new support gamemodes: Battershout and Perfection.

Here's What We Know

Battershout is activated when linked skills break enemy armour, causing an explosion that deals 50% damage from the destroyed armour. In addition, every 50 units of Strength increases the damage by 4%. Perfection rewards perfect skill execution by providing a buff that increases damage by 5% per level, up to a maximum of 15%. While this mechanic may be less effective in the later stages of the game, its potential remains to be seen.

Other improvements include the ability to lock equipment for primary or secondary weapons or both slots, allowing you to use the same items in different sets of equipment. Visual and sound effects have also been improved, with Essences receiving updated detail.

The full list of changes has not yet been revealed, but the developers have confirmed an update to the Atlas passive skill tree, a new specialisation (likely for the Mercenary class), and improved rewards to fix the lack of valuable loot. More details are expected in the coming weeks.
