Garmin has announced a new software update for the Forerunner 165, Forerunner 255, Forerunner 265, Forerunner 955 and Forerunner 965 smartwatches.

Here's What We Know

The 22.24 update is the second release in the 22.xx cycle and addresses a number of issues that users have experienced since installing the previous 22.22, including workouts, notifications, and Connect IQ apps.

This includes fixes to an issue where scheduled workouts were showing up one day late for users in some time zones. Also fixed bugs that could cause recommended exercises to not show up after a workout is complete, and issues with the last stage of activity being displayed.

For the Forerunner 165 and Forerunner 255, you can now customise the sound of notifications. It also fixes an issue that caused some Connect IQ apps on the Forerunner 165 to suddenly shut down.

However, this update does not resolve the issues with virtual partner pacing and response to notifications during training that were present in the beta version. The reasons for this are not explained.

According to Garmin, the 22.24 update is currently available to 20% of users, and the company has not specified an exact date for the rollout.

How To Switch It On

In order to manually download the update, you need to go to Menu, System, Software Update, Check for updates.

The new Garmin gadget has recently been certified.
