Huawei to announce first smartphone running its HarmonyOS operating system on 20 March

Huawei has officially confirmed the event on 20 March, where several new products will be presented, including a stable version of HarmonyOS Next and several devices.

The event, called Pura Pioneer Ceremony and HarmonyOS Smart Mobility New Product Launch, will start at 14:30 local time in China. According to preliminary information, the company will announce an innovative smartphone running the official version of HarmonyOS at the event.

The main highlight of the event will be the first Huawei smartphone equipped with a stable version of HarmonyOS Next. The device may have an unusual design, including a complex shape and a 3:2 screen with a 6.28-inch internal display. The new product is expected to have a 50MP camera with a large sensor, water and dust protection, and a fingerprint sensor on the side.

It is noteworthy that this device will be available at a reasonable price, which will allow more users to join the HarmonyOS ecosystem. Although there are talks of Pocket 3 or P70 Pocket, it is possible that the smartphone may be branded as Pura.

In addition to the smartphone, the event will also feature new tablets and automotive products. It is known that Huawei is working on a new version of the MatePad Pro 12.2-inch tablet for 2025, which promises improved performance, battery life, and other updates compared to the 2024 model.

Huawei has also announced the start of pre-orders for the 2025 Wenjie M9 and Wenjie M8. The final prices for these models will be announced on 20 March during the event.
