Meta has announced an expanded monetisation programme for Facebook Stories creators.
Here's What We Know
Content creators will earn additional revenue for views of their stories (Stories).
Members of Facebook's previous programmes In-Stream Ads, Ads on Reels and Performance Bonus will be automatically connected to this opportunity, while application registration is open for new authors.
The platform will pay money for popular short videos or snippets of videos from other services, such as YouTube.
The monetisation for Stories authors on Facebook is part of Meta's ambitious programme to bring new authors into its ecosystem, including from other platforms such as TikTok.
The company has paid out more than $2bn in 2024, with payouts for short videos up 80%.
