Analysts were sceptical about the release of the iPhone 16e, believing that this budget gadget from Apple is inferior to many similar smartphones in its price category.

We already reported that the iPhone 16e's initial pre-orders turned out to be ten times weaker than the iPhone 16 and 16 Pro, but a few weeks after the launch, it turned out that it's not so bad.

Here's What We Know

The analytical company IDC conducted a study and found that the iPhone 16e is ahead of the iPhone SE (2022) in terms of launch sales - in the first three days after the release of the new smartphone sales were 60% higher.

At the same time, in the Chinese market, the iPhone 16e is significantly behind its Android competitors. It is expected that in 2025 iPhone sales in general will fall in China by 2%, and this is due to the fact that in China comes out a huge number of affordable smartphones on Android, many of which are cheaper, but superior to American gadgets in various indicators.

IDC senior director Nabila Popal said:

Competition [in China] from Android smartphones will be even stronger. China's national subsidies will benefit Android significantly more than Apple.

That said, the iPhone 16e has a much stronger position in India, for example. Analysts predict that the new smartphone will account for a fifth of iPhone sales in this country in the second half of the year.
