ViewSonic announces an alternative to Apple Studio Display - ColorPro VP2788-5K monitor
ViewSonic has introduced a new monitor, the ColorPro VP2788-5K, which can be a worthy alternative to the Apple Studio Display at a much lower price. However, despite its attractive price, it has some limitations compared to its main competitor.
Here's What We Know
ColorPro VP2788-5K is primarily aimed at professionals working with graphics or video. The monitor is equipped with a 27-inch IPS screen with a resolution of 5120 x 2880 pixels, which provides excellent image clarity. The brightness of the screen reaches 500 nits, and it also has VESA HDR400 certification.
In terms of colours, the monitor supports 8-bit colour depth by default, but thanks to FRC, it is capable of displaying 10-bit colours. The Adobe RGB space is 88% covered and the DCI-P3 space is 99% covered, making it a great choice for photo and video editing.
However, it is not suitable for gamers: the refresh rate is limited to 75Hz and the response time is 5ms. There is also no support for FreeSync or G-Sync.
The ColorPro VP2788-5K is equipped with a variety of ports, including HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort and Thunderbolt 4. The built-in USB hub makes it easy to connect accessories. Ergonomics are also top-notch, with height, tilt and swivel adjustments.
