J-15 deck fighter jet crashes in China during training flight

In Communist China, a J-15 deck fighter jet of the Navy crashed during a training flight in Hainan Province.
Here's What We Know
According to preliminary data, the aircraft lost thrust from both engines, which led to the crash. The pilot managed to eject and sustained minor injuries. He was found by local residents and handed over to the military.
The J-15 is China's main deck-based fighter jet, which operates from the Liaoning, Shandong and Fujian aircraft carriers. It can perform air defence and anti-ship warfare missions using YJ-83K and YJ-12 missiles.
It should be noted that the aircraft is based on the Soviet Su-33. China received its prototype, the T-10K, from Ukraine for development. And some J-15s are equipped with Chinese WS-10 engines, while earlier versions used Russian AL-31F engines.
Earlier it became known that the J-15 was also used to develop a two-seat combat training variant, the J-15S, and a version for electronic warfare, the J-15D. The latter has recently been tested on the Shandong aircraft carrier and is used to interfere with enemy radars and guidance systems. In total, China has produced more than 60 J-15 fighters, and production is ongoing.
