The developers of Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor developers were initially afraid that the roguelike spin-off of Deep Rock Galactic might not find its player. However, the active community of fans of the original game ensured a successful launch of the project.

Here's What We Know

Andres Licht Rohde, the game's director, admitted in an interview with Edge Magazine that the team was quite scared because of the market saturation with similar games. They understood that only a few projects succeeded, while others went unnoticed.

Despite their fears, the developers relied on one of the "most active communities on the planet" that was eager for new experiences. This was confirmed by the large number of additions of the game to the wishlist, which eased the team's anxiety about competition in the genre.

Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor draws inspiration not only from Vampire Survivors, but also from other popular titles in the genre, such as Soulstone Survivors and Rogue: Genesia. The game offers three biomes and more than 40 weapons, which provides a variety of gameplay.

After entering early access on 14 February 2024, Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor sold 500,000 copies in its first week, and total sales reached one million copies. This demonstrates the high interest of players in the project and confirms the loyalty of the community.

We would like to remind you that Deep Rock Galactic developers choose a cautious approach to innovation: it is the best solution for small studios.
