Xpeng G6 can now charge up to 450km of mileage in 10 minutes

Chinese electric car manufacturer Xpeng has updated its G6 crossover, making it an even more serious competitor to the Tesla Model Y. Despite minimal external changes, the car has a new 5C battery and an 800-volt architecture that supports ultra-fast charging. In just 10 minutes, you can get enough power to drive 450 kilometres.
What's changed.
Xpeng claims it takes 12 minutes for the updated G6 to charge the battery from 10 to 80 per cent. The new batteries also perform better in cold conditions. The manufacturer claims it takes 15 minutes to charge from 10 to 80 per cent at -30 degrees Celsius. The battery cells are housed in a special protective structure that can reportedly withstand temperatures of up to 1,000°C and pressures of up to 80 tonnes in side impacts.
While the brand has not released details on battery capacity, the data has come to light from certification documents from China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology:
- 625 Long-Range Max Technology Edition and 625 Long-Range Max Ultimate Edition have a battery capacity of 68.5 kWh;
- 725 Ultra-Long-Range Max Ultimate Edition has 80.8 kWh.
As you can guess, the "625" versions have a range of 625 kilometres, while the flagship "725" version can travel 725 kilometres on a single charge.
A single engine on the rear axle produces 292bhp of power and 450Nm of torque. The Xpeng G6 2025 can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.3 seconds and reach a top speed of 202 km/h.
All versions of the G6 are equipped with the Turing AI intelligent driving system, which navigates through multiple cameras, millimetre and ultrasonic radar. In addition, two new colours - Starry Purple and Cloud Beige - have been added to the body palette.
G6 interior updates include a 9-inch digital rearview mirror and new front seats with heating, ventilation and massage functions.
