Western Digital has unveiled the WD Red Pro hard drive with an impressive 26TB of storage.
Here's What We Know
The drive is designed for network attached storage (NAS) systems and uses standard magnetic recording technology (CMR), which provides high speed data recording. It's perfect for large data sets, 8K video storage, and other resource-intensive applications.
The WD Red Pro spindle spins at 7200 rpm and has a 512MB cache.
The drive transfers data at 272MB/s using OptiNAND technology.
The WD Red Pro is also optimised for RAID, minimising the risk of data loss.
It is claimed that the hard drive can last up to 2.5 million hours and transfer up to 550 TB of data per year.
The WD Red Pro is priced at $569.99.
