Apple's foldable MacBook could be the first touchscreen laptop with macOS

Analyst Jeff Pu said that mass production of Apple's first foldable devices could begin in mid-2026. They are expected to be released in 2026 or 2027.
Here's What We Know
One of the devices will be a foldable iPhone with a 7.8-inch screen, and the other will be a larger device with an 18.8-inch screen.
This larger device is described as a combination of a MacBook and an iPad. Pu thinks it will run on macOS, not iPadOS.
This is an interesting speculation, as it could mean that the 18.8-inch foldable device will be a touchscreen Mac. Bloomberg also mentioned possible design changes in iOS 19 and macOS 16, which could form the basis for new devices, including touchscreen Macs.
This information is based on a report by The Wall Street Journal, which states that this larger device is "planned as a laptop". However, it is not yet clear whether this device will run macOS.
According to a study by Barclays analyst Tim Long, Apple's first foldable iPhone could cost around $2,300. The smartphone could become the most expensive iPhone in the company's history. The foldable iPhone could cost $2,299, which is almost twice as expensive as the iPhone 16 Pro Max. Its basic version starts at $1199.
Kuo also said that the foldable iPhone will have a 7.8-inch internal and 5.5-inch external screen, two rear and one front cameras, a Touch ID button and a large capacity battery. The body will be made of titanium, and the hinge will be made of titanium and steel. Mass production will begin in the fourth quarter of 2026.
