Two Ukrainian companies producing long-range drones shortlisted for US competition

The Pentagon has selected four companies to develop long-range barrage munitions under the Artemis programme. AeroVironment, Dragoon, Swan and Auterion were selected, with two of them cooperating with Ukrainian manufacturers.
Here's What We Know
Although the specific Ukrainian companies have not yet been disclosed, it was previously reported that Ukrainian developers are cooperating with the American Auterion and Swan, which are directly involved in the project.
The main goal of Artemis is to create high-tech kamikaze drones capable of operating in electronic warfare, as well as having high manoeuvrability, a range of 50 to 300 km, and the ability to be quickly updated to adapt to new threats.
Key requirements include the ability to operate without GPS, functionality in the event of a loss of communication, and the ability to be launched from the ground. The drones must be cost-effective and suitable for mass production.

The companies were selected from among 165 applications, and the first prototypes are expected by the end of fiscal year 2025. After a series of tests, it will be determined which companies will be able to continue participating in the programme.
Earlier, The Wall Street Journal reported that US defence start-ups are actively cooperating with Ukrainian manufacturers to improve combat drones, as Ukrainian companies have unprecedented experience in their development and use in real-world combat situations.
