China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) has declassified the MG4. The electric hatchback has grown up and received a completely revised design. Judging by the scale of the changes, this is not just a facelift, but actually a new generation.

Here's What We Know

The body has undergone major changes - the front, doors and rear have been updated. The overall styling resembles a larger version of the MG3 with some elements from the MG Cyberster.

Dimensions of the new MG4:

  • Length - 4,395 mm (+108 mm)
  • Width - 1842 mm (+6 mm)
  • Height - 1551 mm (+35 mm)
  • Wheelbase - 2750 mm (+45 mm)

For comparison, the previous MG4 version had 4287/1836/1516 mm and a wheelbase of 2705 mm.

When on sale?

MIIT publishes certification data on new cars every month. No car in China can go on sale without MIIT approval, and green-listing is one of the last stages of formalities.
