Wētā Workshop has released a review trailer of Tales of the Shire, a cute game based on The Lord of the Rings universe, on the PlayStation channel.

Here's What We Know

The developers reminded that the events of Tales of the Shire will unfold in the settlement of hobbits - Shire. Its inhabitants prefer to lead a leisurely lifestyle, do not tolerate violence, cosily arrange their homes and plots of land, love festivals and fishing, grow flowers and have fun - that's what players will do in Tales of the Shire.

The trailer is dedicated to building relationships with other hobbits. To make friends with them players must participate in the life of the Shire, attend joint events, have meals and communicate with neighbours. Of course, any self-respecting hobbit must be attentive to the order in his house, take care of the garden and look properly.

Conceptually, Tales of the Shire is similar to the popular indie game Stardew Valley: it is bright, unhurried, "cosy", friendly and very positive. The game will have a dynamic change of seasons and weather, a small story campaign, rewards for daily activity and much more.

When We Can Expect It

Tales of the Shire is expected to release on 29 July on MS (Steam), PlayStation 5, Xbox Series and Nintendo Switch.
