According to the latest rumours, the iPhone 17 may finally get support for 8K video recording.

Here's What We Know

Although the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus can shoot 4K video at up to 60 frames per second, and the Pro and Pro Max models can shoot up to 120 frames, until now, iPhones have not supported 8K video recording, unlike many Android smartphones.

Insiders suggest that Apple initially planned to add 8K support for the iPhone 16, but the telescopic camera on the Pro models was a limitation. To record video in 8K, you need a sensor with a resolution of about 35 MP, while the iPhone uses a 12 MP sensor, which limits the possibilities of shooting with different cameras.

Apple probably decided that not being able to switch between cameras during 8K recording could cause confusion among users. Many Android manufacturers provide the ability to shoot in the highest resolution for each sensor.

If this information is confirmed, the iPhone 17 may receive an updated telescopic sensor with a higher resolution, allowing users to record 8K video from all cameras.

Six months before the device was announced , the first real photo of a protective case for this model appeared.

The photo shows that the iPhone 17 Air may have a design similar to the Google Pixel.

According to unofficial information, all four iPhone 17 models to be released later this year will have an updated 24-megapixel front camera. Other rumours about the iPhone 17 include increased RAM to 12GB and a new 48-megapixel telephoto camera for the Pro and Pro Max models.
