Galaxy S21 receives update to fix 58 vulnerabilities in South Korea
Samsung has started rolling out a new software update for the Galaxy S21 series in South Korea. The update brings the March 2025 security patch, which addresses 58 vulnerabilities.
Here's What We Know
This update affects the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+ and Galaxy S21 Ultra models with model numbers SM-G991N, SM-G996N and SM-G998N, respectively.
The new software received firmware versions G991NKSS8GYC1, G996NKSS8GYC1 and G998NKSS8GYC1. Currently, the update is only available for the Korean variants of these devices, but it is expected to be rolled out to other Galaxy S21 variants in the near future.
To get the update, users need to go to Settings, Software Update, Download and Install. The new firmware for Korean models can be downloaded from the SamMobile database, and files for other device variants will be available soon.
It's also worth mentioning that Samsung will soon launch Android 15 with a new version of One UI 7.0. The update has been delayed, but it promises significant improvements: a redesigned interface, new features, and smooth animations that will make the device even faster. The first versions of One UI 7.0 will be available from 7 April 2025 in select regions.
Samsung describes One UI 7 as the "most personalised, intuitive and natural" interface, which includes new features such as Now Brief, Now Bar, Google Gemini integration, Sketch to Image, and AI-powered search.
