Huawei sold 45 million smartphones in 2024 and generated record revenue

Here's What We Know
Following the imposition of US sanctions, Huawei faced restrictions on access to advanced technology and 5G-enabled chips, forcing the company into survival mode. However, through the development of software, chip manufacturing and autonomous driving technologies, Huawei was able to overcome the challenges and reach the next level.
The company actively adapted to the constraints by expanding into new industries and creating alternatives to Western technology. Huawei shipped more than 45 million smartphones in 2024, up 25 per cent from a year earlier. HarmonyOS, the company's proprietary operating system, is now used on more than a billion devices. Huawei has also developed its own chips to compete with Nvidia in artificial intelligence.
In the automotive sector, Huawei has become a leader in autonomous driving technology by partnering with China's state-owned carmakers, and the M7 and M9 models with driver assistance systems have become bestsellers, strengthening the company's position in the market.
