Samsung Galaxy S25 has been spotted in Geekbench with the new One UI 8.0 firmware based on Android 16

Confirmation has surfaced that Samsung is actively working on a new version of its proprietary One UI 8.0 shell based on Android 16. Well-known whistleblower Tarun Vats found the Galaxy S25 smartphone in the Geekbench database, where the device was being tested with this updated firmware. This confirms that the company has already started internal testing of the new software for its flagship smartphones.
Here's What We Know
The Galaxy S25, released in January 2025 with One UI 7.0 based on Android 15, shows improved results in Geekbench benchmarks. The device scored 3135 in the single-core test and 9938 in the multi-core test, indicating improved performance thanks to optimisations in the new firmware version.
One UI 8.0 is expected to offer users updated animations, security and privacy improvements, and other innovations. Samsung plans to accelerate the development of this version by building on the foundation of One UI 7.0, which could lead to an earlier launch of the update. However, the exact release date has not yet been announced. The Galaxy S25 is likely to be the first device to receive the new firmware.
