Gourmet: Apple to release iPad Pro with its own 5G modem in 2027

Apple is already working on new devices, including the iPad Pro with the M6 chip and its own 5G modem, the basic iPad 12 with an updated processor, and the MacBook Air with the M5 chip.
Here's What We Know
This was reported by Mark Gurman of Bloomberg in his latest Power On.
According to him, the company plans to release an iPad Pro with its own modem in 2027. It is expected to be the Apple C2 modem, which will replace Qualcomm's in current models. Apple's first proprietary C1 modem debuted in the iPhone 16e last month.
Apple usually updates the iPad Pro every 18 months. The latest generation was introduced in May 2024, and models with the M5 chip are likely to be released in October 2025. If the schedule remains unchanged, the M6 version with its own 5G modem will be available in early 2027.
Back in 2024, the iPad Pro became Apple's first tablet with an OLED display that offers higher contrast and brightness. The manufacturer called it the Ultra Retina XDR display.
Gurman does not specify when exactly the iPad 12 and MacBook Air with M5 might be released, but 2026 seems the most likely option. So far, there is no information about other major changes in these devices.
The insider shared that iPad Pro with M5 is already at the stage of "advanced testing", and mass production will start in the second half of the year. A similar situation awaits the MacBook Pro. Apple will release updated models with M5, but without significant design changes. A global redesign, including an OLED display and a thinner body, is expected only in 2026.
