Hyundai Motor Group has officially announced its new Pleos Connect infotainment system, which will appear in production cars in the second quarter of 2026. It is based on Android Automotive OS and, judging by the first photos, physically resembles the displays in Tesla models.

Here's What We Know

Hyundai is positioning Pleos as a comprehensive software platform for vehicle management. It includes high-performance chips, operating systems, cloud infrastructure and solutions for autonomous driving, route optimisation and real-time data analysis.

In the demos, the Pleos Connect system is represented by a large hovering display that houses key indicators including charge level and gear selection. Meanwhile, a row of permanent buttons is fixed in the bottom row.

Hyundai will integrate Gleo AI into the system, which will allow some of the car's functions to be controlled by voice commands. There will also be Pleos ID, allowing each driver to have their own profile in the cloud and easily transfer their settings between different Hyundai cars with Pleos Connect.

What else was announced

By 2027, HMG plans to release an SAE Level 2+ system that will use cameras, radar and artificial intelligence algorithms for partially automated driving. Hyundai isn't revealing details yet, but the description is similar to Tesla Autopilot or GM Super Cruise.
