Insider: Nintendo Switch 2 users may get a "stripped-down version" of Halo: The Master Chief Collection

Insiders recently reported that Microsoft will be releasing Halo: The Master Chief Collection on Nintendo Switch 2 and possibly PlayStation 5.

This news delighted gamers, but now a nuance has come to light that may spoil the impression somewhat.

Here's What We Know

Tom Warren, editor-in-chief of The Verge, told Jez Corden in a new episode of The Xbox Two podcast that Halo: The Master Chief Collection may be coming to Nintendo Switch 2 in a "stripped-down" form.

It's not entirely clear from his wording what he means, but there's speculation online that the collection may not include Halo: Combat Evolved, as Microsoft is rumoured to want to release a remaster or remake of the shooter separately. But it can't be ruled out that technical difficulties are preventing the game from being ported.
