According to recent reports, Samsung is preparing to unveil its first dual-folding smartphone, but the device may not be available in the global market.

Here's What We Know

According to the GSM Association database(via SmartPrix), the model with the number SM-F968, known by the codename Q7M, will appear in two variants: the SM-F9680 for China and the SM-F968N for South Korea. The absence of global model-specific designations such as B, E, U or U1, which apply to models for Europe, Asia and the US, indicates that the device will be released only for the Korean and Chinese markets.

The situation could repeat as with the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition model, which was released late last year also only in Korea and China. That smartphone was an improved version of last year's Galaxy Fold 6 foldable model. The new triple smartphone may also repeat the fate of the Special Edition model. At the same time, Samsung may have decided to limit the launch to test the reliability and quality of the new mechanism in local markets before the global release.

The autumn release of the new device also confirms that Samsung devices registered in the GSMA database usually hit the market 6-7 months after appearing in the database. This suggests that the official presentation of the triple smartphone will take place, presumably in October 2025.
