Polestar has updated the Polestar 2 with a more powerful processor and premium sound
Polestar has unveiled the updated Polestar 2 for the 2026 model year. The electric liftback gets a more powerful processor, a new Bowers Wilkins audio system and an improved battery for the base single-engine version.
Here's What We Know
The new Qualcomm Snapdragon processor delivers faster in-car app loading speeds, faster app and action response, improved responsiveness of the centre display and smoother overall infotainment system.
A premium audio system from Bowers Wilkins for Polestar is now available as an optional extra. The specifications of this audio system are:
- 14 speakers
- Total power 1350 watts
- Tweeter-on-Top technology for enhanced audio clarity.
- Continuum midrange drivers to minimise distortion.
There are also several updates to the car's design:
- A new Dune body colour - a sandy-toned metallic replaces the Jupiter colour
- New 20-inch Performance five-spoke forged alloy wheels (available in the Perfomance package)
- New MicroTech upholstery material in Charcoal colour with a distinctive Black Ash pattern and decoration
Like the Polestar 3, the Polestar 2 now includes Plug Charge technology by default for seamless charging - drivers simply plug in the cable and the car initiates and authenticates the process itself.
The company has also introduced a new optional Prime package that combines the Pilot, Plus and Climate packages and a tinted rear window into one cost-effective package.
Finally, for the Polestar 2 Standard range version with a single engine in selected regions, the battery has been updated. The 69 kWh unit from LG Chem has been replaced by a 70 kWh storage unit from CATL. As a result, the WLTP range has increased from 546 kilometres to 554 kilometres.
The 2026 model year Polestar 2 is already available for order in Europe at Polestar.com, and will be available in other markets within a year.
