Skoda and Botas have created exclusive trainers in a limited edition of 130 pairs

Two legendary Czech brands have teamed up to create unique footwear inspired by the new design of Skoda Elroq electric crossover.

Here's What We Know

Automaker Skoda Auto and footwear brand Botas have released a limited edition collection of 130 pairs of trainers. The trainers are designed in the spirit of Škoda's new design language called Modern Solid.

Both brands have a rich history - Skoda is celebrating its 130th anniversary this year, while Botas has been making shoes for over 75 years. The companies claim that their collaboration has a deep meaning: both a car and quality footwear are fundamental elements of human mobility.

The trainers were designed by Skoda Auto's Colour Trim department together with Botas' team of footwear experts. "The horizontal lines you see on the shoes echo the horizontal lines we incorporate into the interiors and exteriors of our cars," explained Skoda Auto designer Stefan Webelhorst.

The overall proportions are inspired by the traditional shape of Botas trainers, including the iconic 'Botas Wedge' - a sloping wedge-shaped element on the sides of the shoe. A notable detail is the "S" and hook icon (ˇ) pattern, which appears in the same style as the new Skoda logo.

The designers also drew inspiration from the Elroq in their choice of colours and materials. For example, the S-shaped pattern is displaced on the same material used for the car's upholstery.

Six lucky winners can get a pair of trainers by entering a competition on the Instagram page @skodagram. To do so, you need to answer the competition question correctly and wait until 8 April when six winners will be randomly selected.
