Update 2.0 for The Last of Us Part II Remastered has destroyed the upgraded skills and weapons of Ellie and Abby for many players

The 2.0 update for The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered, which expanded the No Return mode with new maps and characters, brings headaches along with joy. Players are reporting that after installing the patch, all character upgrades - including upgraded skills and improved weapons - disappear.

Complaints about the broken progression come from Reddit and the official Naughty Dog forum. Progress is lost both in the normal playthrough and in the New Game Plus and Permadeath modes.

According to players, after loading saves or starting a new cycle, Ellie and Abby start from scratch, with no resources, abilities, or crafted equipment.

Naughty Dog hasn't said anything yet. There was no official comment or warning about the potential loss of progress. The update is already available on PS5, but if you haven't managed to install it yet, you might want to wait a little while until the developers figure out what went wrong.
