A few days ago, FromSoftware studio announced that its famous game Elden Ring will be coming to Nintendo Switch 2 in 2025. This version will be subtitled Tarnished Edition and many gamers reasonably concluded that it will be an exclusive of the new Japanese console. But it has now been revealed that this is not the case.

Here's What We Know

FromSoftware has confirmed that Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition will first be released on Switch 2, but later the edition will be available on other platforms. Its buyers will receive an exclusive set of cosmetic items and weapons, and will be able to customise the appearance of a riding animal named Torrent.

The studio's official X account published a post in Japanese that mentions "digital sales of the Tarnished Edition", from which we can infer that the bonus items will only be available to those who buy the new edition, but there is a possibility that this is a machine translation error and the content will be made available to everyone who has purchased the game.

Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition will also include the huge story add-on Shadow of the Erdtree, which was released in 2024 and received the highest marks from critics.
